Austria has issued a travel warning for the parts of Israel bordering the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Syria. We expressly warn against all travel to affected areas.
Austrians in Israel are strongly advised to follow instructions from Israeli authorities, follow the news and report to the embassy in Tel Aviv or register for travel with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the ministry.
“In view of the further deterioration of the situation in Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has increased the security level for Israel from 4 “high security risk” to 5 “partial travel alert” for the areas surrounding the Gaza Strip and along Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria”, said the Ministry last night. The areas were evacuated by Israeli authorities and were to be viewed as restricted military areas.
