The couple had no children, four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Lilibet, and were, according to the viewer, “affectionate” towards each other.

The source told : “They looked happy.” As Harry exited the store, he lightly bumped into one of the barrels [outside] and they both giggled and Meghan reached for his hand.

“They just looked really happy to be vacationing together.”

Meghan and Harry were shopping at Faye – an upscale grocery store that says it offers an “exclusive selection of fresh, seasonal organic products, from vegetables to cheese, sweets, seafood and exclusive cuts of meat” imported from France.

After browsing the racks, the couple enjoyed a stroll along the bougainvillea-adorned promenade before boarding a luxury tender that took them towards the north coast of Canouan.

The tiny Caribbean island is just three miles wide but has a reputation as the place where “billionaires go to escape millionaires” thanks to its beautiful sandy beaches and handful of upscale resorts.

Options include the glamorous Canouan Estate Resort and Villas, the Mandarin Oriental and the Soho Beach House Canouan.

Rooms at the Mandarin Oriental start at $837 and go up to over $9,000 a night for the property’s lavish four-bedroom villa, while the Soho Beach House is relatively affordable at $1,200 for its most luxurious room, although members like Meghan received a discount and paid $1,020 per night.

Meghan has long been associated with the Soho House properties due to her long-standing friendship with Markus Anderson, the lifestyle club chain’s chief membership officer.

It was Anderson who arranged a private room at Soho House in London for the Montecito-based couple’s first date, while Meghan hosted a low-key bachelorette party at Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton, UK, before their 2018 wedding.

Like Oxfordshire, Canouan is popular with many of the couple’s friends and acquaintances, with George Clooney and his wife Amal among the famous names who have fallen in love with the island’s charms.

Canouan’s other fans include Robert Downey Jr. and Leonardo DiCaprio, both of whom are known to vacation there.

The island – whose name means “Island of Turtles” in the Caribbean language – is just a quick 45-minute hop from Barbados or an even shorter 15-minute drive from St. Vincent.

Commercial flights to Barbados and St. Vincent are common, while the Grenadines Air Alliance operates frequent scheduled flights between the islands, although many prominent visitors opt to fly direct on a private jet.

It’s also just a stone’s throw from another royal favorite – the island of Mustique, also part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where the late Princess Margaret owned a magnificent villa called Les Jolies Eaux [the pretty waters].

In recent years, Mustique has become a popular destination for the Prince and Princess of Wales, who often holiday there with their three children and Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton.

Like Canouan, Mustique is a tiny, secluded island that offers the ultimate in luxury accommodation and has several celebrity fans, including Mick Jagger, Bryan Adams and Tommy Hilfiger, who all own homes there.

The Sussexes’ Caribbean vacation comes at the end of a week in which they returned to New York City for the first time since their “near-disaster” Manhattan car chase in May.

The pair were widely ridiculed after releasing a statement in which they spoke of a two-hour “relentless pursuit” that resulted in “multiple near misses,” after which the NYPD said the incident was merely “somewhat chaotic.” .

This week’s visit proved less controversial as the duo attended a summit marking World Mental Health Day.

The environmentally conscious couple, who stayed at the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards, attracted some attention for being driven a block to the event in a seven-car convoy of gas-guzzling SUVs, but otherwise enjoyed a smooth trip.

Meghan, 42, arrived at the summit wearing a $987 white off-the-shoulder Altuzarra blazer with matching white pants and heels, which she accessorized with a $4,100 Logan Hollowell gold and emerald choker added

Meghan, who wore a $987 Altuzarra blazer to the panel, used the discussion to voice her fears about children via social media, saying:

“Although our children are very young as parents, they are two and a half and four and a half… but social media is not going away.”

“I think there was an intentional entry point that was meant to have a positive impact on creating a community and something developed and there’s no way to hear that and not try to help these families with their stories.” be heard.”

On their trip to New York, the two also visited a school in Brooklyn and spoke out about the crisis in the Middle East after Hamas terrorists murdered 1,300 Israeli civilians in a horror attack last Saturday.

A statement posted on the Archewell Foundation website said: “At Archewell Foundation, we stand with Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, against all acts of terrorism and brutality.”

“We support our partners and organizations on the front lines in Israel to provide urgently needed assistance and help all innocent victims of this unimaginable level of human suffering.”
