The 36-year-old I May Destroy You actress wore a stylish black dress with patterned cutouts and a matching train to the event at the Royal Festival Hall.

The beautiful dress has been decorated with different materials and has shoulder pads to emphasize the unique style.

Michaela added chunky boots and styled her long dark locks into pretty pigtails to complete the look.

“The Kitchen” offers a glimpse into dystopian London, where the gap between rich and poor has reached its limits and social housing no longer exists.

It tells the story of Izi (Kane Robinson) and Benji (Jedaiah Bannerman) who form a relationship against all odds.

The kitchen itself is a community that refuses to leave its home.

The film, shot entirely in London and Paris, is scheduled to be released on Netflix later this year.

Earlier this year it was announced that Michaela would be taking on a lead role in a new filming assignment in collaboration with the BFI and BMW.

The actress, filmmaker and director will offer a mentorship role to five shortlisted filmmakers, drawing on her personal experiences on both sides.

And the Chewing Gum star said she’s excited to hear stories that haven’t been told yet.

In a video accompanying the campaign, Michaela said: “When I was growing up, I didn’t see what a lot of young people see now, that black people could direct films or on television.”

“The footage we’re doing – I’ve never seen the vision of a black woman in the director’s chair, and just looking at it helps you believe it.”

“There is still a long way to go and I am happy to be able to make this journey easier for creatives.”

The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actress continued, “There are queer stories that I haven’t been told, there are stories about sexual identity that I haven’t been told, stories about what it’s like to be an immigrant I wasn’t told.”

“I’m excited for the future and look forward to more of these stories.”
