In Gaza, the population is fearful of a new exodus

DECRYPTION – The Arab world is concerned about Israel permanently relocating Gaza residents to Egypt.

The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fear the transfer trap that Israel could set for them eight days after the Hamas terrorist attack. For more than 48 hours, several hundred thousand Gaza City residents, crammed into trucks, carts and overloaded cars, have taken the dangerous route south of this narrow strip of land to escape the deluge of fire that has swept over them for a week since Israel a relentless siege began. But many others refuse to give in to Israeli warnings and flee the north of the enclave to avoid the IDF’s ground operation.

“Whatever happens, we will not leave, they are smashing our houses, but we will not be displaced again,” vows Fawziah, a 90-year-old from Gaza sitting at home with her grandchildren, quoted by the Portal agency correspondent Location.
