After Verdone’s appeal on social media, Natasha Hovey, the famous actress from the film “Water and Soap”, reappears. Verdone remembered her 40 years after the film’s release with a post on Facebook and regretted not having seen her again. The director had posted a photo of Natasha at a very young age and wrote: “In 1983, this month, “Acqua e Sapone” was released in cinemas, one of the comedies that brings back many fond memories for me.” A beautiful atmosphere, that effective presence of Sora Lella, the red-haired Fabrizio Bracconeri, the lovely Florinda Bolkan and many people from Trastevere and Testacci who like generic speakers. I found the photo you see in an old album a few months ago and it is the face of debut protagonist Natasha Hovey. Unfortunately we have lost our contacts.”
Natasha Hovey and Carlo Verdone start the appeal: “I have lost contact, get in touch.” Who is the actress from Acqua e Sapone?
The answer
So here is the answer that Hovey confides to Corriere della Sera: “I am amazed at so much outcry.” Friends from Italy called me to draw my attention to the appeal of Carlo Verdone, who wondered on social media where I am. Here I am, I live in Miami and I’m his Sandy! The woman moved to America a few years ago with her husband, a rheumatologist by profession, and their 24-year-old son David: “One of my sisters lives next door to me, the other in Oregon.” My father came from Boston and I have dual citizenship . However, we and my family chose to live in Miami because it is closer to our Latin American spirit. I feel good even though it’s a crazy place! Your typical day? “The city is full of cats, many of which are not sterilized and live in extreme distress (…). That’s why we, together with other volunteers, take care of their livelihood.”
