Jeffrey Epstein victim Carolyn Adriano dies of an “accidental overdose” in a Florida hotel room – as her mother raises questions about the cause of death

A victim of Jeffrey Epstein – whose testimony helped send Ghislaine Maxwell to prison for decades – has been found dead in a hotel room and her mother is demanding answers about her death.

There were few announcements about Carolyn Adriano’s death in late May. The mother of five died of a suspected overdose, police said, but her mother was unsure.

“No one is giving me any answers, and you know what? I’m over it,” Dorothy Groener told The Daily Beast. “Because this is my daughter and she deserves justice.” “She came to a point where she turned her whole life around.”

While other relatives sharply criticized the mother’s claims and drew attention to the 36-year-old’s drug abuse and the drug paraphernalia found in her hotel room, questions about her death remain as questions about Epstein’s suicide persist.

Epstein, the pedophile and New York-based financier, was found dead in his jail cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide, but some have questioned this claim and suggested there was more to his death.

His lover, Maxwell, was found guilty in a high-profile federal trial and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Pedophile Epstein was convicted in Florida of procuring a child for prostitution, but received a favorable plea deal and a sentence that earned him a short prison sentence.

Only years later, when the media reported on the deal, did Epstein come back into the spotlight. This led to his arrest on federal charges. He was found dead in his prison cell in August 2019.

In July 2020, Maxwell was also arrested on federal charges for her role in the high-profile ring.

Adriano was one of the victims who testified in Maxwell’s trial. She detailed the horrors of being an Epstein victim and how Virginia Giuffre recruited her.

Giuffre also claimed she was a victim of the ring and was abused by Prince Andrew. She sued the royal family and settled for a reported $14 million. However, Giuffre has also admitted to recruiting other young girls into the ring.

It was the statements that contributed to Maxwell’s conviction.

“I’m glad they believed me and that what Maxwell did to me was wrong.” “I had a voice and it was heard,” Adriano said in an exclusive interview with Web.com in January 2022.

“It’s so important because I have my own daughters now.” Every day I think about whether there is someone who would put them in the situation I was in. I live in fear for my girls.”

During the trial, Carolyn did not use her last name, instead revealing it to help other abuse victims gain their power.

“I am not ashamed to be a victim of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell,” Adriano said. “I want other girls who have been victimized to know that it’s okay to come out and tell someone – even if you don’t want to be identified – and the sooner the better.”

During the trial, Adriano also described her past problems with substance abuse and how she was sexually abused by a relative at a young age.

It was that struggle with substance abuse that came back and led to her death, investigators said.

Police were called to the DoubleTree by Hilton in West Palm Beach, Florida, around 7:45 a.m. on May 23 for Adriano’s reported overdose.

She went to sleep in the room the night before with her husband, John Pitts, and their children. When they woke up, Adriano was naked and motionless in bed. According to The Daily Beast, police found a crack pipe, a small bag with white residue and a needle in her purse.

Pitts attempted to revive her before police arrived.

Investigators concluded that Adriano died of an “accidental overdose” and their investigation would be closed this week, according to police spokesman Mike Jachles, The Daily Beast reported.

A toxicology report determined she had methadone, fentanyl and alprazolam in her system at the time of her death.

However, Groenert said further investigation is needed. She claimed vodka bottles were found in the room, but her daughter had no alcohol in her blood.

“It shouldn’t be closed,” Groenert told the outlet. “I begged them, I sent them numerous messages. I asked them to arrange meetings and contact me but to no avail.”

Groenert – who is arguing with PItts over Adriano’s will – also noted that her daughter was “ecstatic” before her death. She had recently planned to move to North Carolina to a newly purchased property.

However, Adriano’s family criticized Groenert’s claims. While Pitts declined to comment, his sister told the outlet that the mother’s idea that Adriano’s death was “suspicious” was “ridiculous.”

“Right now, our family is grieving the loss of Carolyn and placing great emphasis on the care of their children.” “At this point, we value space and privacy,” Serena told the newsgroup.

Still, Groenert said she won’t be able to properly mourn Adriano until she gets more answers about what happened.
