These teams that have experienced perfection

The 1972 Miami Dolphins will remain the NFL’s only undefeated members for at least another year.

In fact, the sixth week of activity on the Goodell circuit was marked by setbacks for the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams were the only ones not to suffer the humiliating defeat after five games. Thanks to the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, that is now a thing of the past.

Here are five sports teams that can boast of being undefeated:

-Dolphins, football, 1972

Give credit where credit is due! In 1972, the Dolphins became the first and only team in the Super Bowl era to post a perfect season. Under the leadership of head coach Don Shula, the team maintained a 14-0 regular season record. She then won her three playoff games, including Super Bowl VII, 14-7 against the Washington Redskins. That year, the Dolphins led the NFL in points scored and fewest points allowed.

-Lady Vols, Basketball, 1998

The 1998 University of Tennessee Lady Vols are considered the greatest team in women’s college basketball history. The NCAA club maintained an impressive 39-0 record and won its third consecutive national championship.

-Arsenal, football, 2003-2004

Led by Thierry Henry, who was at his best, Arsenal collected 90 points in the standings thanks to a record of 26 wins, 12 draws and zero losses. The club easily won the regular season championship, but no other trophies. Henry hit the target 30 times. Combined with the two wins at the end of the 2002–2003 season and the nine consecutive wins at the start of the 2004–2005 season, Arsenal enjoyed a 49-game unbeaten streak between 2002 and 2004.

-Cornhuskers, Football, 1995

The University of Nebraska Cornhuskers not only went 12-0 and won the 1995 Fiesta Bowl. The team won every game by at least two touchdowns. Only one game was won by a margin of less than 20 points. The club averaged 52.4 points per game this year.

Special mention goes to the 1971 Cornhuskers, the 2001 University of Miami Hurricanes and the 1972 USC Trojans, who won all 12 of their games.

-Bruins, Basketball, 1972

Clearly something happened in 1972. In NCAA men’s basketball, the UCLA Bruins were simply dominant. They went 30-0 and won the national championship. Bill Walton was the big star of this team, averaging 30.3 points per game.
