A hockey game between under-15s in Latvia took an unexpected turn when a player exchanged blows with the two linesmen.
Tempers flared in the final minute of a game played at Riga’s Daugava Ice Rink on Sunday. HC Riga 2010 led 7-3 against HC Baltic Wolves, and a representative of the latter lost his mind after a provocation from an opponent.
Number 79, who is of Estonian nationality, settled for the role of spectator as he received a skate from a rival. The colossus then pounced on him and a scuffle ensued.
The officials managed to immobilize the two young hockey players, but when he got up, the Wolves player immediately punched one of the referees in the face. The second subjected himself to the same treatment, but did not allow himself to be shaken, instead bringing the teenager back to the ground.

He also received a penalty of no less than 85 minutes for his action.
In a press release, HC Baltic Wolves confirmed that it had ended its relationship with the player, who was a guest of the team, saying the incident had reached “unacceptable proportions”.
“The club deeply regrets the player’s behavior on the ice. “We condemn any form of violence; it is not allowed in competitive sports,” says a translation from Google Translate.
There could be greater consequences for the perpetrator, including a complete ban from the league.
