Love Is Blind contestant Uche Okoroha has explained why he was missing from the season 5 reunion after being nominated by his fellow cast members during the hour-long special.
The final episode of the Netflix reality show was released on Friday and contestants returned to be interviewed by hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey about life after filming wrapped.
While Lydia Gonzalez, Milton Johnson, Stacy Snyder, Izzy Zapata, Taylor Rue and JP Pierce, Johnie Maraist, Christopher Fox and Aaliyah Cosby were all in attendance, was lawyer and tech company founder Uche – who dated fellow contestant Lydia before filming – conspicuously absent from the hearing.

The lawyer and entrepreneur explained his absence on Instagram and revealed that he was away on business
However, Uche later clarified his whereabouts and revealed that he was unable to attend due to a business trip.
Uche wrote on Instagram on Monday morning: “Unfortunately I was unable to attend the reunion as I was out of town on a business trip.” As an entrepreneur, building my business is a big part of my life and it took seven years for me to I got to where I am now.
“My time is finite and there was an incredible opportunity that I couldn’t miss to record a TV show.”
Uche promised to answer all questions from fans related to the final episode of the series.
“However, responsibility is important to me,” he continued.
“I saw the reunion and there are some things I will address soon.”
“You won’t be left without answers, I promise.”
His co-stars took the opportunity to express their true feelings towards him – including Aaliyah, who dated him on the show and outside of the experiment.

Aaliyah, who dated Uche both inside the pods and outside the experiment, revealed why their romance didn’t work out
Milton, who married Uche’s ex-girlfriend Lydia, criticized Uche for giving him “unwarranted information” about his love interest
Breaking her silence about why their romance didn’t last beyond the show, she shared, “It ended for a lot of reasons.”
“I don’t think I was his type,” she said. “He ended up mentioning to a few people in the cast that I wasn’t the type of woman he would find attractive, and after everything I’ve been through, I just didn’t feel like I wanted to pursue it. “a relationship with anyone.”
She confirmed that she is now happily with someone else who treats her like a queen.
Uche responded to Aaliyah’s allegations on his Instagram story, insisting that he finds her “beautiful.”
“I also love black women, find black women attractive and date black women,” he added.
“I think it’s much easier to make an excuse for why the relationship didn’t work out than to take responsibility and address your own mistakes. Compassion is the best way to win the public’s favor.”
He also teased that he will soon talk about “what went wrong” in his relationship with Aaliyah and “instead of placing blame,” he will “give a perspective” on what he thinks both of them “could have done better.”
Meanwhile, during the Love Is Blind reunion, Milton claimed that Uche repeatedly gave him “unwarranted information” about his lover Lydia, whom he eventually married.
“I know his character,” he said. “He gave me so much unwarranted information about Lydia. He would want to pull up screenshots. He would want to show me everything.
The fifth season reunion episode was released on Netflix on Friday
“At the end of the day, I told him that the relationships I’ve built with my fiancé are independent of whatever you’re doing.” Honestly, I don’t care at all because that’s how strong my bond with Lydia is. ‘
On Love Is Blind, contestants are tasked with falling in love while living in individual apartment units before being introduced in person for the first time if they decide to propose.
Last month, creator Chris Coelen insisted the show’s producers had no idea singles Uche and Lydia had dated before appearing on the show – revealing bosses argued over whether they should stick with the experiment .
Reflecting on the unexpected oddity, he insisted that their romance, which took place three months before the series began filming, was not revealed to producers during the rigorous screening process as he revealed why Uche and Lydia talked about their secret past Had to keep quiet.
“The fact that Lydia and Uche not only knew each other but were already in a romantic relationship was a complete surprise to me. “I was completely taken aback,” he told Variety.
“It was a complete shock. To be honest, it was like, ‘What are we going to do?’ No one had a clue.”
He continued: “We told each of them individually that we had no idea how this happened and we were disappointed, but we felt it was the right decision to leave the experiment.”
“Lydia and Uche were completely devastated. Each of them expressed a strong desire to stay and continue and spoke about their investment in the process.
“And to be honest, I felt bad for them because it’s a great experience to be a part of.”
