According to the family, the daughter of a Brazilian woman kidnapped by Hamas is found dead

Celeste Fishbein, an Israeli and daughter of a Brazilian woman who was kidnapped by the extremist group Hamas, has been found dead. The information was confirmed to g1 on Tuesday (October 17) by the young woman’s uncle, Mario Fishbein. According to Mario, the family was informed that Celeste was “murdered” and that they had found her body.

Celeste, 18, was living in a kibbutz, a type of rural community near the Gaza Strip, when she disappeared after Hamas’ surprise attack on October 7.

Brother Liel Fishbein and other family members managed to escape by hiding in a bunker during the attack. The young woman exchanged messages with them until Saturday (October 7th) around 11:20 a.m. and then stopped responding.

In addition to her uncle and brother, there was Celeste’s mother; the grandmother, 94 years old; and the elderly woman’s caregiver. They were rescued by the Israeli army 20 hours after the attack.

Celeste was born in Israel but was the daughter and granddaughter of Brazilian parents. She lived in Kibbutz Be’eri, which is located in the south of Israeli territory. The young woman worked as a nanny.
