LPHF: Mélodie Daoust invited to the camp in Montreal

Quebecer Mélodie Daoust has been invited to the training camp of the Montreal team of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF).

The six teams of the new circuit have published the list of players who will take part in this first phase of the campaign. This begins November 15th.

Daoust is one of 14 athletes who received an invitation to the Montreal camp. His partner Hanna Bunton is also there. The two women work together as coaches in the high-performance women’s hockey program “Prep School” at Collège Bourget in Rigaud. They are the founders of it.

The other guests are the attackers Sarah Bujold, Catherine Dubois, Sarah Lefort, Leah Lum, Alexandra Poznikoff and Brooke Stacey, the defenders Catherine Daoust, Mariah Keopple and Brigitte Laganière and the goalkeepers Marlène Boissonnault, Marie-Soleil Deschênes and Blanka Skodova.

Coming back to Mélodie Daoust, a native of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield who represented Canada at three Olympic Games. The striker won two gold medals (2014 and 2022) and one silver medal (2018). From 2018 to 2019, she notably wore the colors of the Montreal Canadiennes in the now-defunct Canadian Women’s Hockey League.

LPHF teams must submit their final roster of 23 players on December 11th.
