The Canadian manufacturer and distributor of envelopes and packaging products Supremex is closing its factory with 28 employees in Saint-Hyacinthe in Montérégie.

“Relocating folding carton operations to our existing facilities will significantly increase operational efficiencies and achieve synergies across our operations,” Supremex CEO Stewart Emerson announced in a press release on Tuesday.

The company wants to relocate its packaging operations to the Montreal region. She hopes to relocate some of the 28 affected employees.

Supremex says these changes, which it calls “optimization,” are expected to result in cost savings of $1.5 million per year.
