Kinetic Storm in the demo version: lots of pew pew – POIEUVRE.CA

Not all games require a complex story or a campaign that spans dozens of hours. As proof: Kinetic Storm, a top-down action game in which you control a machine responsible for defeating waves of increasingly powerful and numerous enemies.

Developed and published by Broken Teekanne Studios, the title is probably one of those games that seems particularly simple these days: just point and shoot. And along the way, moving around to avoid enemy fire in the hope of surviving a little longer.

Well, there’s a bit more complexity, including the ability to use terrain to protect yourself from enemy fire, including those damn energy cannons that hit hard, or even flying carriers that never stop, never really, to look at ours Shoot ship, but very Broadly speaking, this is the principle of Kinetic Storm.

And… is that really good? After all, the developers never promise us the best, nor do they assure us that the game mechanics will be breathtaking. No: things are simple but effective, with an equally simple improvement system.

More complete than a game that could be found on Miniclip.com or Newgrounds at the time – the Flash format is thankfully long extinct – but without impressing too much, Kinetic Storm currently offers enough entertainment for around twenty levels. Undoubtedly, there will be even more action-packed and hectic moments in the full version, in which the player will have to decide in a split second between a risky evasive maneuver and a frontal attack that could well cost him his life. Enough to find these action games full of explosions and 8-bit sounds from the 1990s in a contemporary version.
