Once again fueled by home runs early in the game, the Philadelphia Phillies won Game 2 of the National Finals between them and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
On Tuesday night, the Pennsylvania club earned a 10-0 win at Citizens Bank Park to take a 2-0 lead.
Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber (twice) scored the first three points for the winners by sending the ball out of bounds. The day before, the Phillies had achieved their first three successes in a 5-3 win thanks to home runs.
The other points of the Philadelphia formation in the duel of the day were produced by JT Realmuto, Brandon Marsh, Alec Bohm and Nick Castellanos.
On the mound, Phillies starter Aaron Nola allowed just three hits in six innings. He also beat seven competitors. In relief, Jeff Hoffman, Matt Strahm and Orion Kerkering came close to perfection. The group of pitchers sent into the game for this duel managed a total of 13 strikeouts. This game also marked the end of a streak of 17 straight playoff games with at least one home run for the Diamondbacks.
The series will now move to Chase Field for games three and four. If necessary, the fifth game will also be presented in the home stadium of the “D-Backs”.
