Less than a week later Jada Pinkett Smith shocks the internet by revealing that she and Will Smith After the two had been separated for seven years (among other bombshell revelations), the actor finally spoke out.
According to the New York Times (via InStyle) Blacksmith initially responded to his wife’s confessions which she shared while promoting her memoir. ‘Worthy’published yesterday (16).
By emailing the editor, Blacksmith said that the words of Yes there in the book woke him up by saying that his wife was “more resilient, intelligent and compassionate than he realized” and explained that he was less aware of his problems due to the length of the relationship.
“When you’re with someone for more than half your life, a kind of emotional blindness sets in. And one can easily lose sensitivity to hidden nuances and subtle beauties,” he said in part of the document.
In addition to responding to memories Yes there directly through the New York Times, Blacksmith also shared a cheeky, less direct response to her millions of Instagram followers.
On Sunday, the actor returned to the social platform for the first time since Pinkett Smith revealed the end of his marriage, sharing a video of himself sleeping on a boat while ringtones and text notifications played in the background.
“Fun fact about me: I can take a nap almost anywhere,” the video’s voiceover says previously Blacksmith Waking up and smiling as he nods at the camera.

The end of the couple’s relationship was also highlighted on “The Today Show” hosted by the journalist Hoda Kotb.
In the interview, Kotb commented on the excerpts from the book in which Yes there talks about life apart from will since 2016. When asked about the separation, Yes there confirmed: “Yes”.
Although the former couple still appears together in public, Yes there explained that they no longer live under the same roof, although he chose not to formalize the divorce. She shared that the breakup was due to several issues and her own expectations of the relationship:
“It’s about a lot of things and I think by the time we got to 2016 we were exhausted from trying. I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”
Yes there revealed that he kept the split a secret because they “weren’t ready” to release the news. She explained that they were both trying to figure out how to maintain a partnership and that she had promised will that there would never be any reason to get a divorce. Yes there stated:
“We did really hard work together. We just felt a deep love for each other and we’re going to figure out what that’s going to be like for us.”
