Max Pacioretty has not yet had the opportunity to play in the uniform of the Washington Capitals, but is worthy of being represented by his son, who is already quite a hockey player.
Maximus, the second of Maximillian’s four children, laced up his skates for a quick exhibition game between the Capitals and Calgary Flames on Monday night. The eight-year-old scored a hat trick on the ice at Capital One Arena.

To the delight of the fans, Max Pacioretty Jr. handed out cups of coffee to all the players in front of him. He scored two goals on breakaway attempts and got the goalkeeper to bite with great feints.
Obviously, physical ability runs in the family. Pacioretty captained the Montreal Canadiens and surpassed the 30-goal mark seven times before injuries caught up with him. Maximus’ mother is retired tennis player Ekaterina Tandiogenova, herself the sister of former ice hockey player Maxim Tandiogenov.
Maximus also gave the Capitals host a brief interview after his three-goal performance, but as his father was wont to do, he was at a loss for words.
However, we bet dad Pacioretty must be very proud of his boy, especially since he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon for the second time in two years.
