A woman in her 20s was seriously injured in a Manhattan subway station early Wednesday afternoon after she was unnecessarily pushed in front of a moving train.
According to the New York Post, the 29-year-old victim was randomly selected by an unknown person. According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), she hit her head on a train leaving downtown before falling onto the platform at the Fifth Avenue/53rd Street station.
The suspect, a man in his 30s wearing a burgundy or brown sweater, was muttering to himself at the time of the incident, American media learned. However, he has not yet been caught by the police.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to the hospital where he was fighting for his life, the Big Apple Fire Department said.
