A weekend by the water? One thing is certain: a fall storm will darken the weekend. Forecast.

All the ingredients come together to create a fall storm that will last all weekend across Quebec. This atmospheric context is explained by the meeting of two air mass systems (a warm air mass and a cold air mass), resulting in an injection of cold air over Quebec.

No region of Quebec will be spared from the implementation of these two systems. Abitibi will also have a front row seat starting Thursday evening. Southern, central and eastern Quebec will benefit from the effects of the second system from the United States.

SYSTEM3

Gray and windy

Bad news for those who want to get their vitamin D on the weekend: There will be no sun for the most part. In fact, the hours of sunshine this weekend will be drastically reduced or even non-existent. It will be more of a gray sky coloring the autumn sky.

If the sun is not there, the wind will be there. Gusts of 50 to 90 km/h are expected. On the Magdalen Islands the wind blows at more than 90 km/h. Gaspésie and the north coast will receive more moderate winds, between 35 and 50 km/h.

SYSTEM5

Cool and rainy

Anyone who says gray weather and wind also says… rain. Between 50 and 100 mm of rain is expected across Quebec. This is also referred to as continuous rain, which means that it will rain continuously at low or medium intensity.

At the time of writing, it is still too early to have exact data for each sector, but one thing is certain: it will rain this weekend. The development of the rain should therefore be monitored in the coming days.
