During an appearance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday, Adele announced that she had quit drinking.
“I stopped drinking maybe three and a half months ago,” she told the audience at her Las Vegas residence, via the Guardian. “It’s boring. I mean, I was literally a borderline alcoholic for most of my life in my 20s, but I miss it so much.”
“So enjoy your whiskey sour. “I’m very, very jealous,” Adele joked to a fan.
When speaking to Vogue in 2021, the “Easy on Me” singer-songwriter opened up about struggling with fame and said that at one point she considered giving up music.
“I became really famous when Amy Winehouse died,” she explained, adding, “And we watched her die right in front of our eyes.” Adele shared that she was afraid of losing control herself. “I have always had a very close relationship with alcohol. “I’ve always been very fascinated by alcohol,” she told the publication. “It kept my father away from me. That’s why I always wanted to know what was so great about it.”
