Apparently Pierre-Luc Dubois’ first goal with the Los Angeles Kings against the Winnipeg Jets gave him wings, as he scored twice against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night to give his team a 7-3 win.
With a bit of luck, the former Columbus Blue Jackets won his race against Connor Dewar and beat Marc-André Fleury between the pads. Twelve seconds later, he scored his second goal of the game, making history by making it third for the Kings after the same player scored two goals in such a short space of time.

Even though the Los Angeles team was down 2-1 in the first period, those two goals from Dubois at the end of the first period allowed Todd McLellan’s men to return to the locker room with a 4-2 lead.
Fleury, meanwhile, had a difficult night, allowing five goals on 24 shots.
The Coyotes had an easy time against the Blues
The Arizona Coyotes easily defeated the St. Louis Blues 6 to 2. Clayton Keller, Sean Durzi and Nick Schmaltz each scored a goal and an assist in the win. Rookie Logan Cooley also received an assist.
Jakub Vrana and Samuel Blais responded for the Blues.
Goaltender Conor Ingram earned his first win of the year by stopping 24 of the 26 pucks aimed at him. André Tourigny’s men will open their local season on Saturday when they host the Anaheim Ducks.
Oilers and Jets lose
After a clear and flawless 6-1 win against the Nashville Predators, the Edmonton Oilers found themselves in trouble again and lost 4-1 to the Flyers in Philadelphia. It is the third defeat this season for Connor McDavid’s teammates.
The latter also recorded an assist on his team’s only net, scored by Zach Hyman.
Cam Atkinson contributed significantly to their team’s success with two goals and Sean Couturier (two assists). Carter Hart gave up just once on 23 shots.
The Jets suffered the same fate as the Oilers, losing 5-3 to the Stanley Cup champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, despite two goals from Alex Iafallo.
Defenseman Shea Theodore had three assists while Jonathan Marchessault responded to the Jets’ first goal late in the first period.
