Motorola has become a relatively minor phone brand, but Lenovo is pushing hard for a relaunch, particularly in North America. Its goal: to offer highly versatile phones that sell at a fraction of the price of its competitors.
The Moto G Stylus is exactly that. This phone has a large FHD+ screen with a diagonal of 6.8 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The device has a 5000 milliamp hour battery, which means a battery life of just over one day per charge.
As a bonus, a stylus is included, which is housed in the upper right corner of the case. You can use it like a Galaxy S23 Ultra, for example. You can make quick notes, take screenshots, and handwrite messages.
Its dual-lens camera has a 50-megapixel sensor on the back. Its front camera has a 16 megapixel sensor.
And all for a ridiculous price of $300. Canadian. Motorola is in liquidation mode this fall as the Moto G Stylus previously cost $500. At this price it’s more than a bargain, it’s almost a bargain.
Boundaries
Of course it will be necessary to deal with certain limitations. For example, the Snapdragon 695 processor is far from the ultimate in mobile performance. At least Motorola includes 12 GB of RAM. Internal storage is limited to 128 GB.
And to save money, Motorola doesn’t offer Qi induction charging on the Moto G Stylus. Also: The device ships with the Android 12 system, which dates back to last year.
In other words, this device is not perfect. It’s not entirely new either, as it dates back to 2022. But for the price, it’s probably the best deal on the market right now.
