Fernandez had four aces and won 67% of contested rallies on his first serve ball. She also found a way to break the world number 90 holder four times, in addition to saving three of the five break points she offered herself.
Last week, the Montrealer won her first tennis tournament of the season in Hong Kong. This puts her on a winning streak of eight consecutive years. She only lost two rounds.
