The Longueuil deer saga restarted: Me Goldwater files his application for appeal –

Anne-France Goldwater filed a motion on Friday to appeal against last August’s verdict in the deer case at Michel-Chartrand Park in Longueuil.

Quebec Superior Court Justice Bertrand Jolin ruled that the deer could be killed with a crossbow as part of a controlled hunting operation.

The argument for this decision is that they are harmful to the park’s ecosystem due to their overpopulation.

Me Goldwater wants to appeal this case, pointing out that the judge overturned the article that said the animal was endowed with “sensibility.”

“We promote relocation, sterilization and deworming. All of these options should be considered and applied,” she said.

“There are two options: either he gives his permission, I roll up my sleeves and get back to work, or he doesn’t give permission, I don’t speak to anyone for three days until my eyes are screaming and I “I’m going to do it.” See what other options there might be.”

The city of Longueuil declined to comment due to the legalization of the case.

The judge could make a fairly quick ruling on whether or not this case can be heard on appeal.
