A video from a Quebec comedian that was viewed more than 8 million times in 24 hours

The beautiful story between comedian Tai TL and Europe continued on Thursday when the latter was featured on the Instagram world page to promote the Rugby World Cup currently taking place in France.

The ten-second video in which we see Tai TL running through the Stade de France in his character of Jean-Robert, very popular on social networks, has been viewed more than 8 million times in less than 24 hours, gaining 25,000 additional subscribers for the 21-year-old comedian on his Instagram account.

Great encounters in Cannes

For several years, the Cannes International Film Festival has been calling on influencers and content creators to complement its programming. Tai TL, who filled the Casino de Paris four times last April instead of just once, was a guest at the 2023 edition of the festival; In this context he met one of the heads of Meta’s European section, Guillaume Thévenin.

“The people I met [à Cannes] I really liked my vibe and it was really natural,” the young comedian, who grew up in the north of Montreal, modestly mentions. “They asked my agent if I wanted to do a video [Instagram] for the World Cup [de rugby]; We said, let’s go!”, he says in an interview with Le Journal.

A Bell Center in 2024?

While he has charmed much of the French-speaking world on the other side of the Atlantic, Tailaire Laguerre, his real name, still has the main goal of establishing himself in the world of humor in Quebec. The love he received on social networks – where he has several million subscribers – as well as his successes at the Olympics in 2021 and at the Place des Arts and the Monument-National in Montreal in 2023 convinced him that he was ready to take his jokes to the provinces.

“We are preparing a big Quebec tour for 2024; Why not do the Bell Center?” says the main person concerned as calmly as possible.

“Tai receives a lot of support every day from his fans in Quebec,” notes Jeff Santana, the comedian’s agent and founder of Trends Talent, an agency specializing in content creation and marketing, who accompanied his young protégé during the interview. “More than 20,000 people came to see my shows in Montreal this summer and everyone laughed,” adds the young rising star.
