Behind the giants of the University of Montreal Carabins and the University of Laval’s Rouge et Or, the Concordia Stingers are doing well this season. On Friday night, they ensured they finished in the top three by defeating the McGill Redbirds 40-23 at Percival-Molson Stadium.
The Stingers (4-3) also confirmed they would finish with a record of .500 or better, as they did in 2021. Last year they had several struggles and finished the year with a record of 2-6.

Concordia quarterback Olivier Roy had a good game despite falling victim to an interception. He threw five touchdown passes, including four to Ezekiel Tieide.
There were penalties for the Redbirds (1-6) in this match. They received 22 penalties for a loss of 224 yards, almost as many as quarterback Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald (294) gained air yards.
Concordia will close the regular season against the Carabins (7-0) on October 28 at CEPSUM. That same day, at the University of Sherbrooke Stadium, McGill will cross swords with the Vert & Or (0-6), the only team it has defeated this season.
