The Iraqi Prime Minister completes the list of participants at the Cairo Peace Summit

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia al Sudani flew from Baghdad airport to Cairo on Saturday morning, where he will attend the peace summit in the Egyptian capital. This Saturday, a handful of leaders from around the world will meet there to try to stop the escalation of the war between Israel and Hamas. Among the top politicians who have confirmed their participation are the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez; the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell; the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. However, no representative of Israel or its main ally the United States will attend, dampening expectations of the summit’s potential achievements.
