Of course, the supplies received and managed by the Red Crescent (the version of the Red Cross that operates in Islamic countries) are a relief to a population that is the victim of a crime against humanity committed by Israel in retaliation for the hateful attack on Hamas terrorists. But 20 of these trucks would be needed every five hours to restore a modicum of dignity to the Palestinians.
For now, they are just “crumbs” or “a drop in the ocean,” as health organizations serving Palestinians say, given the Israeli blockade choking life in the area. The lack of treated water for drinking, cooking, bathing and basic sanitation is already leading to a cholera warning. Food rationing causes hunger. Lack of medication and hospital products increases the risk of death.
Since Israel has cut off power and fuel, it doesn’t even take a bomb or missile to blow up a hospital as they are shut down due to dry outages in their generators.
More than the need to expand the opening at the Rafah border crossing for the entry of products and the exit of foreigners (including Brazilians) and refugees, Israel is expected to be pressured to lift the blockade with which it is collectively blocking an entire people punished for the crimes committed by a group.
However, there is nothing to suggest that this will happen. This suggests that even if Tel Aviv wins, it must lose.
