The Victoriaville Tigres took advantage of the Quebec Remparts’ indiscipline to score three unanswered goals in the second period and extend their winning streak to four by winning 4-1 at the Videotron Center on Saturday afternoon.
After an uneventful first period, the score was tied 1-1, but the Tigres started to perform well in the second period when Pier-Olivier Roy made an extra effort to bring the score to 2-1.

Immediately after seeing the light flash behind Quentin Miller, Remparts veteran Charles Savoie hit Justin Larose, who was very close to him, in the face with a stick. This hit earned him a severe penalty and his expulsion from the game.
The Cats quickly took advantage of this numerical advantage to increase the score to 3-1. Before the end of the quarter, the same Justin Larose dealt the final blow, once again taking advantage of the locals’ indiscipline.
“I liked how we worked out this win. We didn’t have 100% energy in the first half. “We took off in the second half and stayed disciplined,” noted visiting head coach Carl Mallette, although he declined to comment on whether the QMJHL’s disciplinary prefect, Éric Chouinard, should further punish Savoie for his actions.

For the Red Devils, coach Éric Veilleux particularly highlighted the sequence of the Tigres’ second goal as a turning point in the game.

While certain penalties made it possible to thwart the opponent’s scoring chances, others were “less good,” he continued. “We demand a high level of competition. Tsé, someone running away and being tripped is a punishment, but there are some that are not good punishments. “We have to manage our emotions,” said the driver of the team that has given its opponent the most numerical advantage in the Cecchini circuit since the start of the season, without naming a player.
