Lady Gaga and Mick Jagger Make Surprise Appearances on ‘SNL’ to Support Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny pulled double duty as host and musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” with the help of a few A-listers – the most surprising being Lady Gaga, who introduced the reggaeton superstar’s performance in her best Spanish accent along with Mick Jagger and Pedro Pascal .

Before Bunny delivered the first live performance of “Monaco” from his newly released album “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana,” Gaga called in “Puerto Rico y todo el corillo” to kick off a performance of “Un Preview.”

Surrounded by moody red lighting and accompanied by the mechanical toy horse from the single’s music video, Bunny breezed through “Un Preview” and later recreated the Al Pacino-starring video for “Monaco.”

In addition to his performances, Bunny was joined by surprise guest Jagger for a few sketches – marking the first time the Rolling Stones frontman appeared on “SNL” since 1986. The performance came two days after the Rolling Stones’ New York show, which included a surprise duet with Lady Gaga.

Jagger crashed a skit between Bunny and “SNL” cast member Marcello Hernández in which the two were involved in a heated argument on the set of a Spanish-language soap opera. Jagger aptly took on the role of the mediating father, but ended up with him dramatically slapping both actors. Jagger joined Bunny again in a sketch about some not-so-holy nuns as a parody of “Sister Act 3”.

Although this is Bunny’s first time hosting SNL, he made his debut on the platform in April 2020 with a cameo appearance during one of the pandemic’s “Saturday Night Live at Home” episodes. He later appeared as a musical guest in 2021 when Regé-Jean Page of “Bridgerton” took the host title.

“Saturday Night Live” returned for its 49th season this past weekend, with Pete Davidson as host and Ice Spice as musical guest. The episode delivered a number of groundbreaking moments on the internet, including a surprise appearance from Taylor Swift and her rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Bunny’s appearance follows the announcement of his “Most Wanted Tour,” which will kick off February 21 at the Delta Center in Utah and feature numerous stops in major cities across North America, including Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Date: March 26 May in Miami.

The Puerto Rican superstar also appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on October 19, where he discussed his hosting gig on SNL and shared that the week-long process of putting the show together was just as exciting as it was tiring. “I need to sleep,” he joked to Fallon. “I enjoyed the process, the entire cast and producers. The atmosphere is very cool. I’m thankfull.”
