Dave Chappelle reportedly criticized the Israeli bombing of Gaza during one of his recent comedy tour stops in Boston.

The Wall Street Journal reported that, according to those in attendance, the comedian initially condemned the Palestinian terror group Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel during his show at TD Garden on Thursday. He then reportedly criticized the Israeli bombing of Gaza and accused the United States of supporting the slaughter of innocent people.

Those in attendance said Chappelle’s comments about the Israel-Hamas war came after he said he did not believe students should lose their job offers for expressing support for the Palestinians. Some people in the audience then tell the comedian to “shut up,” which elicits a reaction from Chappelle.

The comedian then reportedly criticized the Israeli government for cutting off Gaza’s access to water and other essential supplies, accusing it of killing innocent civilians.

Those in attendance told the newspaper that some audience members cheered Chappelle and chanted “Free Palestine” after his comments, while others shouted, “What about Hamas?”

He later reportedly added at the end of his broadcast that “two wrongs don’t make a right” regarding Israeli policy and Hamas attacks.

A spokesperson for the comedian told the WSJ that he “denies being in Boston last night,” although TD Garden’s website shows that Chappelle had two shows scheduled for his tour, Dave Chappelle Live: It’s a Celebration, B!% ?#&$!, is scheduled for October 19th and 20th at the Boston venue. has also contacted representatives for Chappelle and TD Garden.
