Talent is not a question of age, Andrey and Sophia proved that in their personal conversation on Sunday evening revolutionagainst Jasmyn and Volodymyr.

By choosing to compete with a cha-cha while their older opponents opted for a waltz, Andrey and Sophia focused primarily on strength, energy and enthusiasm. “We knew it was a really energetic dance and we suspected the audience would be with us,” Sophia explained in very good French. We practice this style almost every day, but we added a lot of things for this number.

Even though it’s outside of their usual routine, the two young dancers from Ontario actually incorporated a pretty impressive revolution. “It’s something you never do and I have to say it was really difficult. It took a lot of work.”

At just 13 and 11 years old, the duo wasn’t afraid to cross paths with an older and more experienced couple. “We knew that we were about the same level as them, but that people would be more impressed if they saw the younger ones as well as the older ones.” The masters appreciated the precision of their movements, their impeccable technique and their undeniable Musicality.

The two young dancers work tirelessly for their passion. They will soon represent Canada at a competition in England before competing in the United States and Calgary in November.
