The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) is investigating the murder of a 50-year-old man that occurred in the Vanier district on Sunday night.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., police were alerted to a disturbance by suspects who had allegedly forced their way into a residence on Avenue Proulx near Rue du Beaucage.
The suspects violently attacked the 50-year-old and slightly injured another 59-year-old before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Police officers dispatched to the scene attempted to maneuver the victim, but the fifty-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.
Major criminal investigators, assisted by forensic identification technicians, took over the investigation and will analyze the crime scene while a command post is deployed.
Multiple vehicles were mobilized and a dog handler was requested to conduct searches and comb the area to apprehend the suspects.
