Brazilian workers were suspended in the air after scaffolding erected at a construction site in Sao Paulo collapsed, killing one person.
A video posted on social media last week shows workers hanging from chains 100 meters above the ground at a construction site with their feet in the air, France Live reported on Sunday.
During work on two 33-story towers near Santo Amaro in southern Sao Paulo, the scaffolding connecting the two buildings suddenly gave way for an unknown reason.
The workers, clinging only to the strength of their arms, remained in this difficult position for several minutes, which seemed like an eternity, until help arrived, a witness told local media, citing Le Parisien newspaper.
Almost ten trucks and a helicopter were used to evacuate these workers, who feared for their lives in the incident, into which local authorities opened an investigation.
The victim’s body was found in the rubble of the construction site, but it is not known whether the victim was one of the workers suspended in the air or was rather at the construction site, the same media added.
