Your friends or parents can now recommend profiles to you on Tinder – Tech & Co

A new feature of the social network allows a user to select 15 relatives to offer you profiles.

Who has never dreamed of playing Cupid and giving loved ones advice about their love life? Now the dating app Tinder allows it. Thanks to the “Friend Test” feature – “the approval of a loved one” in French – you will soon be able to recommend profiles to a Tinder user.

How it works ?

A Tinder user can invite up to 15 friends or family members, regardless of whether they have a Tinder profile or not. They can connect to the application as a guest (after verifying their age and accepting Tinder’s terms and conditions).

Matchmakers then have a maximum of 24 hours to suggest profiles for a possible “match”. Without having the ability to chat or send messages to the people concerned. After the 24-hour session ends, the Tinder user has the opportunity to view profiles recommended by their friends.

The social network states that the user remains “master of his decisions” and ultimately decides whether he wants to send a “like” or not.

And even if the use of this function is intended for friends and relatives, it is not impossible that your mother, father or another very close family member will suggest a profile to you (if you have given them access).

“Making discussions easier”

According to a survey published by the OnePoll research team, more than 75% of singles surveyed say they talk to their friends about their love life several times a month. “Now we’re making it easier,” said Melissa Hobley, head of marketing at Tinder, in a press release.

“This feature helps you identify opportunities you may be overlooking.”

Tinder says the functionality is already available in 15 countries, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. The social network is aiming to expand “globally” in the coming months.
