Third aid convoy arrives in the Gaza Strip news

A third aid convoy arrived in the Gaza Strip via Rafah, Egyptian and Palestinian media and representatives reported today. However, according to humanitarian organizations, at least a hundred trucks with aid supplies would have to arrive in the Gaza Strip every day to provide basic supplies to the approximately 2.3 million people trapped there. According to the UN, fuel is also urgently needed.

According to recent reports, more than a dozen trucks have crossed the border so far. In two previous aid convoys, a total of 34 trucks traveled from Egypt to Palestinian territory over the weekend, an Egyptian Red Cross representative said.

Products are supplied by Egypt, other countries and international aid organizations. They first arrive at the airport in the coastal city of al-Arish, where some of them are taken to warehouses. Since October 12, 27 planes have arrived, said the region’s governor, Mohammed Abdel Fadil Shusha. Together they brought hundreds of tons of humanitarian supplies to Egypt.

According to US broadcaster CNN, the Gaza Strip has lost a total of more than 7,200 aid shipments since Israel imposed a blockade on the area. Furthermore, according to UN aid organizations, urgently needed fuel has not yet been brought into Palestinian territory. Without this, people would continue to be “strangled”, warned UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini in a statement referring to electricity generators in hospitals.

Israel: Hostage rescue operation – soldier killed

According to the military, Israeli soldiers entered the Gaza Strip at night to combat Palestinian fighters and search for hostages taken by Hamas. 222 people were kidnapped in Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, military spokesman Daniel Hagari said of the number of hostages. One soldier was killed and three others were injured in the action.

Family members of those kidnapped have been informed, Hagari said. The army believes most of the 222 hostages are still alive. Two American hostages were released on Friday. The commando operation was not the start of a major invasion, the British BBC reported.

Attacks on Gaza and Lebanon continue

Airstrikes on Gaza and targets in southern Lebanon destroyed two Hezbollah cells trying to fire anti-tank missiles and rockets at Israel, the Israeli military previously said. According to the army, one cell was located near the Israeli town of Mattat, about 13 kilometers southwest of Aitarun, and the second was further north in the disputed Shebaa Farms area.

The area surrounding several hospitals in the Gaza Strip was also the target of Israeli airstrikes. The Israeli military did not comment on reports that Israel had bombed the area around the al-Shifa and al-Kuds hospitals in Gaza City and the Indonesian hospital in the northern Palestinian coastal strip.

The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 and carried out massacres in the border area that left 1,400 people dead, most of them civilians. Identification of the bodies is underway. Furthermore, according to the Israeli military, at least 212 people were kidnapped as hostages in the Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian data, at least 4,700 Palestinians have been killed so far. 14,245 other people were injured.
