Davis Cup: Three Quebecers in action

Tennis Canada has announced the composition of its team for the Davis Cup finals, and Quebecers Félix Auger-Aliassime, Gabriel Diallo and Alexis Galarneau will be there.

They will be joined by Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil in this competition, which will take place in Spain from November 21st to 26th.

Canada won the 2022 edition of the Davis Cup. Captain Frank Dancevic’s team will be trying to become the first team since the Czech Republic in 2012 and 2013 to win two years in a row.

“I am honored and excited to be captain of such a great team in another edition of the Davis Cup Final,” Dancevic said in a statement released on Monday. After seeing what this group was able to achieve in the group stage, including winning three games, and with the additions of Milos and Felix, we are confident we have what it takes to win a second consecutive World Cup.”

Auger-Aliassime will take part in the Davis Cup for the sixth time. He had a record of nine wins and four defeats. In the Canadian triumph in 2022, the “FAA” was able to record eight victories in a row.

Raonic, for his part, will wear the Maple Leaf colors at the Davis Cup for the first time since 2018. Diallo and Galarneau will be at the event for the fourth and fifth time, respectively. They are ranked 133rd and 185th in the world rankings.

Canada will face Finland in the quarterfinals. This duel will be presented on November 21st.
