The problems at Sport Boys don’t stop there. If yesterday everything was a party because they saved the category, this Monday the 23rd the Licensing Commission of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) issued a resolution deducting 4 points in the overall table, leaving them only one point were in the relegation zone as there is no known date for the end of League 1 in 2023.
At the end of the 17th day of the Clausura tournament and despite the fact that they lost to Huancayo by the narrowest of margins, the Buenos Aires team secured their permanent place in football after defeats against Deportivo Binacional and Unión Comercio. This left the pink team in 15th place with 38 points, while Poderoso de Juliaca finished with 35 and Poderoso de Altomayo with 33 points. In purely mathematical terms, they had saved the category.
Until the decision of the Licensing Commission came out, which leaves the Sport Boys in 16th place with 34 points, just one point behind the Moyobamba team, so they will fight for their permanence this Saturday, October 29th against Cienciano in the final final tournament must date. Likewise, Binacional will face Melgar in Juliaca and Atlético Grau will host Unión Comercio on Sunday 29th.
