Anne Dorval and Marc Brunet parody reality TV in Splendeur et Influence – Radio-Canada.ca

After “The Heart Has Its Reasons” and “Les Bobos,” actress Anne Dorval and author Marc Brunet are working together again in the satirical comedy Splendeur et Influence, whose filming begins on Monday. The actress plays an aging presenter who takes over the management of a reality show with four young influencers.

While The Heart Has His Reasons poked fun at American soap novels and Les bobos poked fun at the bohemian bourgeoisie of Plateau-Mont-Royal, Splendeur et Influence takes aim at the indelible search for celebrity characteristic of modernity .

Host and producer Brigitte Bussières (Anne Dorval), who calls herself the white Oprah of French-speaking America, tries to stay in the game by taking the helm of a new reality TV show. She is supported by Zac (Philippe-Audrey Larrue-Saint-Jacques), an influencer turned television designer and producer.

The show follows the daily lives of four young content creators, played by Mathieu Dufour, Naïla Louidort, Pascale de Blois and Yannick de Martino.

We will quickly realize that this essential striving for recognition and love is not limited to the younger generations, but seems to have become a universal need that Brigitte will not ignore, we summarize in a press release.

Directed by Isabelle Garneau and Jean-François Chagnon and produced by Zone 3, the series Splendeur et Influence includes 8 30-minute episodes and will air on Radio-Canada on ICI Tou.tv Extra and ICI Télé in 2024-2025.
