Dwayne Johnson, the famous “The Rock”, received a wax statue at the Grévin Museum in Paris. Despite the homage, the actor was not happy with the doll’s “white” skin tone, which became a joke and went viral on the internet.

In a video shared on social media, comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. pointed out that the color attributed to the artist on the statue appeared several shades lighter than the star’s. “This is The Rock’s wax statue. This is what Paris thinks he looks like. They turned him into a small stone, similar to a pebble. It seems like The Rock has never seen a sunny day in his life. You made him look like David Beckham…it looks like The Rock is part of the royal family. Have you googled him? I’m a little offended,” he said.

After the criticism went viral on the networks, The Rock republished the comedian’s video and spoke out. “For the record, I will be asking my team to contact our friends at the Grévin Museum in Paris, France, so we can work here to ‘update’ my wax figure with some important details and improvements starting with the color of my figure “Skin,” he wrote.

He concluded by joking, “And next time I’m in Paris I’ll stop and have a drink.”

In a statement published by the Deadline portal, the museum apologized for the incident and agreed with the star’s statements. “Dwayne Johnson is right. We are aware of this and will of course fix the problem as quickly as possible and send you new photos as soon as they are ready. We await him when he comes to Paris and the Grévin Wax Museum to celebrate with a glass of champagne,” wrote the institution.
