On October 7, Hamas militants kidnapped the Idan family. The terrorists filmed the hostage-taking live. They shot the eldest daughter and kidnapped the father. Since then, the survivors have lived in terror.
Maayan Idan had just turned 18. She organized her big party on the day of the Hamas attack, October 7th. His loved ones are gathering for his funeral today. The teenager died in a kibbutz from terrorist bullets. His mother, his brother, his little sisters are heartbroken. They face a double tragedy. The father of the family was kidnapped. He can be seen next to his daughter on the guests’ T-shirts. “My heart is broken in two. On that same terrible day, you, my daughter, were gone forever. And dad was taken to Gaza,” the mother adores.
Horror scenes
To ensure the security of the ceremony, guests are armed. Each of these relatives and friends was afraid. They witnessed the hardships of this united family. When the terrorists broke into Idan’s house, they confiscated the mother’s phone and filmed the kidnapping on Facebook. Helpless, the relatives discover the horror. The gruesome scenes haunt Maayan’s uncle. After three hours, the father was kidnapped along with about ten kibbutz residents. His wife and his cadets remained safely behind.
