Through images taken more or less on location with shoulder cameras that follow the events in “mockumentary” mode, through shocking confessions in front of the camera in which the “characters” reveal themselves and comment on the events, we discover the Daily That Lives of four young and ambitious influencers in the making.”
Here is the full summary:
“Our young new media warriors are led by the lovable but a little dated, a little opportunistic but entirely likeable presenter Brigitte Bussières (Anne Dorval), the self-proclaimed white Oprah of French-speaking America except Louisiana and every province of Canadian lands except Quebec. It’s a big return in front of the cameras and perhaps a last chance for Brigitte, the moderately popular producer and host of mixed-success reality TV shows like SOS t’as l’air fou, and her controversial but touching makeover -Palliative Go to my barber and die. Brigitte is assisted by Zac (unlikely diminutive of Pierre-Olivier) (Philippe-Audrey Larrue-Saint-Jacques), a seasoned influencer who, after a few professional mistakes, became a reality TV designer-producer. He takes on the role of mentor for our young content creators (Mathieu Dufour, Naïla Louidort, Pascale de Blois, Yannick de Martino). We will quickly discover that this inevitable pursuit of recognition and love is not limited to the younger generations, but seems to have become a universal need that Brigitte will not be able to escape.
The Splendor and Influence series consists of eight 30-minute episodes and will air on Radio-Canada in 2024-2025.
