Israeli Foreign Minister rejects ceasefire news

Israel’s foreign minister used drastic words to reject calls for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “Tell me: what is your proportionate response to the murder of babies, the raping and burning of women, and the beheading of a child? How can you agree to a ceasefire with someone who has sworn to kill you and destroy your existence?” Minister Eli Cohen shouted angrily to the UN Security Council at a high-level meeting in New York today.

Cohen continued: “We did not choose this war, but we have no doubt that we will win.” The world must support the military offensive.

Hamas is “the new Nazis”. Just as the civilized world came together to defeat the Nazis, the civilized world must now unite in support of Israel to defeat Hamas.

Cohen cancels meeting with Guterres

Cohen canceled a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres over his comments about Israel’s attacks. “I will not meet with the UN Secretary-General. After October 7th, there is no room for a balanced position,” said Cohen.

Guterres had already criticized Israeli counterattacks in the Gaza Strip and spoke of “clear violations of international humanitarian law”. Although he condemned the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, he said at the same time that it “did not occur in a vacuum.”

In this context, Guterres spoke of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, condemned Guterres’ statements as a “justification of terror and murder”.
