Rebecca Loos says David Beckham took his portrait "like a victim" in the Netflix series

(CNN) – Rebecca Loos doesn’t seem happy that her story with David Beckham is being revisited.

The Netflix docuseries “Beckham” takes a look at the soccer superstar’s life, including an alleged decade-long affair with Loos, who was her personal assistant.

Loos, now married with two children in Norway, spoke to the Chron about Beckham’s reaction to the scandal almost 20 years ago.

In the docuseries, he and his wife Victoria Beckham recall the pain they suffered due to media scrutiny during this time. The sports star in particular remembers how hurt his wife was.

“He can say whatever he wants, of course, and I understand that he has an image to maintain, but he portrays himself as a victim and makes me look like a liar, like I made these stories up,” Loos told the Daily . Email the new interview. “You’re indirectly implying that I’m the one who made Victoria suffer.”

CNN has reached out to a representative for Beckham for comment.

The alleged infidelity occurred after Beckham was transferred to Madrid and Loos worked for him in Spain. In 2004, Loos claimed in an interview with Sky News that she and the athlete had started dating a year earlier after they were photographed leaving a nightclub together.

“I think the chemistry between David and I was very good and people weren’t happy because I was very unprofessional and he’s a married man,” she said in the 2004 interview.

Beckham then denied the allegations of infidelity.

“The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special children. There’s nothing a third party can do to change that,” he said, according to The Guardian.

Loos, for his part, has long since turned the tide.

“Here it’s not like England, there’s a lot less judgment,” he said of his life in Norway. “People here handle it well. They don’t care,” he says. “Most of them [amigos noruegos] They say, ‘Well, I was with a married man once and I did this…’ It’s like everyone has done something at some point.”

“Beckham” is available to stream on Netflix.
