There was an accident in the US today where a plane took off from an airport without permission and collided with a landing jet on the runway. The case occurred at Hobby Airport, the second busiest in Houston.
A Hawker 800 business jet entered Runway 22 for takeoff without proper authorization and struck another business jet, a Cessna Citation Mustang, which was landing on Runway 13 to the right. Both aircraft were damaged, but no people were injured.
The Hawker jet had to return to the airport immediately. In the audio recording below you can see the moment the Hawker pilot says it was a midair collision. However, the Federal Civil Aviation Agency reported that preliminary information indicated a collision on the runway that left both planes on the ground.

The airport remained closed at the time of publishing this report as debris from the collision was found on the runway. The case is under investigation and new information will be released as soon as it is confirmed.
