NFL: This Commanders player is in trouble

Washington Commanders defensive lineman Jonathan Allen didn’t hide his anger following his team’s loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.

“They kicked our asses. It’s that simple. We have to get better,” said the 28-year-old in press conferences after the 14-7 defeat.

Allen also blurted out the “F” word a few times, which was removed from the following quote: “I’m tired of this shit. It’s been the same shit for years.”

The Alabama Crimson Tide product was selected by the Washington club in the first round (17th overall) of the 2017 draft and is currently playing his seventh season in the NFL. He only appeared in the playoffs once, for one game in 2020. That year, the Commanders had a 3-4 record and finished third in the East Section of the National Championship.

Allen has a four-year contract that will allow him to earn about $18 million annually through the end of the 2025 season. If the situation in Washington does not improve, the athlete could request a transaction. The deadline for NFL trades in 2023 is October 31st.
