Seven paintings by Riopelle will be offered for sale in November – Radio-Canada.ca

The Heffel House will auction seven paintings by Jean Paul Riopelle in November, including a “masterpiece with an estimate between $3 million and $5 million.”

Heffel’s fall auction on November 23 will also feature works by Paul-Émile Borduas, Emily Carr, Henry Moore and Andy Warhol, according to a press release. According to Heffel, the 94 lots on offer are expected to sell for between $13 million and $20 million.

Of the seven works by Riopelle offered this fall, Heffel stands out.

“Untitled (Composition .2)” from 1951, estimated to sell for $3 million to $5 million, references the house.

Borduas’ painting “Miniatures empressées” (1955), estimated at around $1 million, will also be for sale. Andy Warhol also has two iconic portraits of Queen Elizabeth II and Mick Jagger for sale.

We also offer two large paintings by Guido Molinari, works by sculptor Henry Moore, paintings by James Wilson Morrice and works by Lawren Harris, AJ Casson and AY Jackson from the Group of Seven.

Collectors and art lovers were able to view the works in Calgary and Vancouver in September and October; They will be in Montreal from November 2nd to 8th and then in Toronto from November 15th to 22nd. The auction, in person, online and remotely, will take place on November 23rd in Toronto.
