The “Organic Degradable Cabaret” is coming to Paris

A show that has been very popular in Quebec since 2008, where artists come to read ridiculous passages from the autobiographies of fallen personalities Degradable organic cabaret will try to seduce French audiences tomorrow at a theater in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

“I have a very good feeling,” says Quebec producer Didier Morissonneau, who is taking part in the show with nine Parisian actors. It’s a good sign if you cry laughing during rehearsals. »

Shortly before the pandemic, French producer Pascal Guillaume [« le plus important producteur de théâtre privé en France »] came to see a performance of Cabaret Bio Dégradable at the Lion d’Or in Montreal. He gave Didier Morissonneau the green light to broadcast his show to Paris in May 2020. Then COVID came and everything was put on hold.

More than three years later, the two producers can finally put together this new adaptation. It was Didier Morissonneau himself who made it his mission to find hilarious excerpts in biographies of European artists. He particularly preserved the writings of Nabila (a reality TV star) and singers Plastic Bertrand, Claude François and Alain Barrière, to name a few.

Anti-casting

Pascal Guillaume, in turn, found the actors who performed these excerpts on stage. “I told him exactly the kind of person I needed,” says Didier Morisonneau. I like anti-casting. For example, we have a man 1.60 m tall, a little bearded and paunchy, who is going to read Miss France’s book! »

The two producers are full of optimism for this show, which they have planned every Thursday evening until December 21st. The Organic Degradable Cabaret is performed at the Tristan Bernard Theater with a seating capacity of 400.

“I rented an apartment in Paris,” says Didier Morissonneau. I signed a one-year lease today [mardi]. Maybe I’m too optimistic! But I think it’s really a show for the French, this idea of laughing a little bit at vanity, at narcissism. It’s almost more French than we are. »

In Quebec it is Degradable organic cabaret will be performed on December 15 (Grand Théâtre de Québec) and January 6 (Cabaret du Lion d’Or de Montréal). cabaretbiodegradable.com.
