Although he has been retired for a year, former presenter Pierre Bruneau continues to reap the rewards of his long and brilliant career.

The person who has covered more than thirty local, regional and national election nights, including 25 as an anchor at TVA, will receive the René Lévesque Prize, given to a journalist, next November.

His nomination was announced Wednesday at the announcement of the winners of the 2023 Prix du Québec, the highest honor given by the Quebec government in culture and science.

These awards celebrate the exceptional careers of people who contribute to the development of their field, expand the boundaries of knowledge and make Quebec known beyond its borders.

Recall that last April in Toronto, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television honored the fifty-year career of Pierre Bruneau, who held the role of presenter at TVA for 46 years.

The actress Marie Tifo and the actor and playwright Robert Lalonde will also be honored at this evening organized by the National Assembly.

In addition to the honors bestowed upon them, recipients will receive a $30,000 scholarship, with the exception of neuroscientist Marie-France Marin, winner of the Relève Scientifique Prize, who will receive $10,000.

Those deserving receive a silver medal engraved with their name, a calligraphed parchment signed by the Prime Minister of Quebec and the relevant minister, and a gold-plated silver pin.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 22nd at the Palais Montcalm.
