Tiktoker known as ‘Narco Queen’ is murdered in Chile aged 24 and police fear ‘risky’ funeral

The Tiktoker Sabrina Durán Montero was killed this Monday (24) in Chile. The 24yearold was not only famous on social media, but also ran a drug cartel in Santiago. Now the capital’s police are preparing for the funeral, which the control and order service described as “extreme risk”.

On the influencer’s profiles, her more than 450,000 followers mourned her death, many of whom called her “Queen.” She posted videos about her life in prison. His last records were dedicated to his girlfriend Antonella Marchant, leader of the drug cartel Los Marchant. According to the newspaper El País, both met in the women’s prison in the municipality of São Miguel while they were serving their respective sentences for drug trafficking.

Sabrina was imprisoned until September, but was released and remained on probation. According to testimony about the murder, the content creator was walking down a street when she was intercepted by two people who fired multiple times, apparently in an attempt to steal her vehicle. Hours later the car was found burned in Quilicura, 35 kilometers away.

Several videos shared on social media are being used in the investigation to determine whether the crime was a robbery or a premeditated attack, which is the police’s main hypothesis. “These people had a preconceived idea of how they would behave. Preliminary information suggests that they were waiting for them,” emphasized Metropolitano Occidental prosecutor Pablo Sabaj. The Chilean woman was taken alive to the Santa Rosa de Chena hospital, where she died a few minutes later.

The newspaper also described how agents were preparing for Sabrina’s funeral, which will take place in Peñaflor, southeast of the capital, where she lived. According to them, the police are in contact with the young woman’s family, who fear a new attack.

The influencer’s funeral is one of 1,700 socalled “narco funerals” that have taken place in the last four years. The ceremonies take place in drug dealers’ neighborhoods and cemeteries, with their gang partners shooting into the air and detonating sound bombs. Last month, Chile’s President Gabriel Boric introduced a bill to limit times for honors deemed “high risk.”
