The 29-year-old actress wrapped her platinum blonde locks in a hairnet as she stopped by Gail’s for a cup of coffee.

The TV star opted for a relaxed look, wearing a black sweater with striped sleeves which she paired with dark trousers.

Lucy wore a dark blue jacket and accessorized her look with a pair of black boots and a red handbag.

The actress also stopped by a pub during the outing, where she was apparently joined by other cast and crew members working on the show.

The Bohemian Rhapsody star later donned a black coat as she continued filming the period drama.

The show tells the story of Ruth Ellis, who was executed in 1955 aged just 28 after killing her abusive lover, racing driver David Blakely.

She shot Blakely repeatedly outside the Magdala pub in Hampstead, north London, with a bullet ricocheting off the pavement and wounding a passer-by.

Written by Kelly Jones, the drama is set in 1955 and will premiere on ITV1 and be available to stream on ITVX.

Lucy said: The story of “Ruth Ellis” is fascinating. Both she and this complex case have always provoked strong reactions.

“With Kelly’s insightful scripts, I look forward to bringing a new perspective to both familiar audiences and those unaware of her influence on British history.”

The drama follows Ellis as a young nightclub manager, her abusive relationship with Blakely and her subsequent arrest, trial and legal battle for redress.

Ellis was hanged in Holloway Prison in 1955, aged just 28, by the notorious executioner Albert Pierrepoint.

The four-part series is described as “a gripping legal and emotional rollercoaster” and is based on Carol Ann Lee’s acclaimed biography “A Fine Day for Hanging: The Real Ruth Ellis Story.”

An ITV spokesman said of the drama: “The powerful mystery of what drove Ruth Ellis to take the life of the man with whom she had a passionate but toxic and volatile relationship will reveal there is more to this crime of passion stuck when Ruth was prepared.” say.

“Her silence and reluctance to talk about what happened between her and dashing race car driver Blakely are far more complex than she let on.”

“Ruth’s lawyer, the low-ranking but intelligent and sensitive John Bickford, begins to realize what she has suffered and believes they must resort to provocation.”

“Because the stakes could not be higher, literally life or death, Bickford begins his own investigation and uncovers details that could have saved her life if these facts had come to light in court.”

The drama is produced by Angie Darnell, with Lee Haven Jones directing all four episodes.

Ruth was commissioned by ITV head of drama Polly Hill and drama commissioner Huw Kennair Jones.

Silverprint Creative Director Kate Bartlett will produce the series alongside Silverprint Pictures Development Director Antonia Gordon.

Jones said: “There is so much more to the story of Ruth Ellis than we think we know.”

“Kelly’s scripts brilliantly explain not only how the emotional and physical abuse she suffered led her to commit a terrible crime, but also the desperate last-minute attempt to save her as she and her supporters battle a merciless Establishment fought.”

“We’re delighted to be working with Lucy Boynton and Silverprint Pictures to bring this compelling story to ITV and ITVX audiences.”

Lucy was last seen in the three-part ITV adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? adapted and directed by Hugh Laurie.
